Become a Member of VoK!

We offer a calendar of social activities and connect members to others with similar interests. This is a fun way for Kensington neighbors with similar inclinations to get to know one another.

For the times when you might need
a ride to the doctor, a friendly visit, or help with chores, we can coordinate help with our volunteers.  Our trained and vetted Volunteers can provide assistance for what you might want or need -- click on MEMBER SERVICES above to take a look.

VoK offers memberships at three levels:
  • Full Membership (all services & events for 1 year plus 1-year online subscription to Washington Consumers' Checkbook) - $250 for individuals; $350 for 2 adults at the same address
  • Associate Membership (social/educational/recreational events for 1 year) - $125 for individuals; $175 for 2 adults at the same address
  • Temporary Full Membership (services & events) - $100 for 3 months. Full memberships for individuals experiencing temporary medical challenges, such as knee surgery, a broken arm, or hospital recovery.
  • Please see our Membership Application for income-related reduced fees.
For Greater Kensington residents who will be at least 90 years old during your membership year.  Beginning July 1, 2017, you will receive a *FREE* Full Membership for the year!

VoK is an all-volunteer, nonprofit organization of neighbors helping neighbors. Income from membership fees pays for insurance, background checks for volunteers, volunteer training, expenses for social & educational events, website & other technology expenses, telephone, copying & printing, and other operating costs.

If you'd like to volunteer, as a driver or for other services, please click above on the VOLUNTEER tab. Volunteers are not required to be members.

Important Note About Services: VoK's ability to provide services is dependent upon the availability of our volunteers. Naturally, the more notice we get from you, the more likely we will be able to find a volunteer willing & able to complete your request.
We send out a weekly listing of service requests, so a week or more notice for a service request is ideal. In emergency situations, we will forward individual requests to our volunteers.
We will always do our best to match a volunteer with your service request!

Special Thanks to: Andy Fraser of Sandglass for technical and development assistance and Jill Gallagher for logo design.
